Not that I have loads of time to sit around and knit, but I am a sucker for a cute knitting project. This Octopus by Purl Bee is totally irresistible. And if you've ever had a slobbery 10 month old, you know how perfect those tentacles are, ha!

I've been gathering loads of kid's room inspiration & ideas as project Boys Room is in full swing at my house. The blog Weekday Carnival is spot on for  so many reason and Riikka's kids room are nothing less than amazing!

I love the use of color while still being minimal. Perfect.

  • diy gradient blind

    by Summer

This is brilliant. Roller shades are a cheap solution to install in the kid's room to block out that blessed sunlight that wakes the kids up wayyyy too early. But? They're cheap and a bit boring and seem to accumulate way to many sticky finger marks.

So? Naku of the blog Bambula DIY'd it. A can of black spray paint sprayed at the bottom to create an amazing gradient effect.

    My project for the weekend!

    Visit Bambula for the DIY.

I'm inspired this morning by these two crisp white spaces. Photographed by Swedish photographer J. Ingerstedt for Family Living magazine, the vibrant green is so refreshing, don't you think?

This just might be the most cheerful mobile ever. Seriously. I love the colors, styling, size of balls. It's slightly off-kilter. Love it!

C'mon! So many levels of amazingness.

  • little spaces: Buckley's room

    by Danni Remender

Mummy blogger, Becca Hardesty of life at 1521, gives us a second tour, this time of her youngest son, Buckley's room. You can find big brothers here.

"Buck's room is pretty small so we wanted to leave the walls white, while bringing in color with the accessories. The red shelf is a nice pop of color and, while it was kind of a bold move, we really love it. Both of the boys rooms are such happy places to be in, but also feel relaxing at the same time. My mom saved all of the old Fisher Price toys that we used to play with and now my boys get to play with them. The owl clock really feels like functional art and it looks so perfect in his room. I love that he will be able to grow into his room without us needing to change much"

    Thanks for sharing, Becca.
