The Holidays are in full swing .. I love this time of year! If you're in need of inspiration, I asked 4 of my favorite bloggers & editors to share their Holiday favorites. Amanda Kingloff, a Lifestyle Editor for Parents Magazine shares her treasured Hanukkah memories & gift picks that inspire creativity.
What is your fondest childhood holiday memory?
My mom was the hostess with the mostess when it came to Hanukkah. Every year, we had a big bash with my parents’ friends and their kids one night during the 8-day holiday. Over the mah jongg table a few weeks before the party, the moms would pick the kids’ names from a hat for the equivalent of a Secret Santa. The house smelled like fried potatoes from the mass production of latkes...I loved how it would linger for days.
What is your family's most loved holiday tradition?
My son Oliver is 2 and my daughter Sommer is just 7 months old, so we are just starting to figure out what our holiday traditions will be. I’m not sure yet, but I think it will involve a recurring craft project over latkes and candle light. I love the idea of doing the same craft year after to year to see how it changes.
What is your favorite holiday treat?
My mom used to make a version of this edible dreidel with a Twizzler as the stem and a Hershey Kiss as the point, but I’m kind of into Martha’s more elegant version!
