Is purchasing an organic crib mattress worth the expense?

Are organic crib mattresses fire-safe?
Organic crib mattresses such as Naturpedic do not contain toxic fire retardants because the materials used are naturally significantly less flammable. Fire retardants are added to standard crib mattress as these mattresses are composed of flammable materials such as Polyurethane foam, which the National Association of State Fire Marshals refers to it as "solid gasoline."
