While Sarah was completing applications for MBA schools, where she intended to focus on entrepreneurial interests, she met her future husband. The MBA was postponed in favor of the big family she’d always wanted, four kids in just over five years. Mobility was a new challenge. Then Sarah’s sister-in-law gave her an old frame baby carrier, just like the ones her own parents had used over thirty years earlier. She found it to be so practical that she used it everyday while tending to her small children. During a trip to Bainbridge Island, WA Sarah saw some beautiful fabric that sparked an idea – combine the simple carrier with beautiful fabric & help other young families survive their “every day” lives.

kokopax, llc was founded in 2007 in Henderson, Nevada by Sarah Spoor. While taking care of her four young children, Sarah was introduced to the vintage lightweight carriers her parents had used to carry her. Sarah and her husband immediately recognized the amazing benefits of being able to carry their infants so easily and still take care of their other kids, cook, attend school activities and travel freely.
