Heavy-duty orthopedic innerspring + firm flat surface provide ideal support in accordance with pediatrician and CPSC firmness recommendations. Fire Protection: Cotton does not burst into flames or release deadly fumes when ignited (as compared with polyurethane foam in a conventional mattress). Polyethylene is an excellent alternative to the vinyl/PVC found in nearly all crib mattresses.
