The certified non-toxic foam core provides contoured support while your baby is being changed with the Nook ChangePad. The cover is made with all-natural eucalyptus and is stain resistant, waterproof, removable and washable.
An additional layer of waterproof fabric is provided between the core and Pebble fabric to ensure maximum cleanliness.

Is purchasing an organic crib mattress worth the expense?

Are standard crib mattresses really that bad?
Unless you prefer that your baby sleep on toxic chemicals such as petroleum-based vinyl (polyvinyl chloride or PVC), polyurethane foam, phthalates, chemical fire retardants and other chemical additives that standard crib mattresses are made of, then... YES!.
Are organic crib mattresses fire-safe?
Organic crib mattresses such as Naturpedic do not contain toxic fire retardants because the materials used are naturally significantly less flammable. Fire retardants are added to standard crib mattress as these mattresses are composed of flammable materials such as Polyurethane foam, which the National Association of State Fire Marshals refers to it as "solid gasoline."
