Kooroo exists according to a simple philosophy: do something you love and do it locally.
In 2011, husband and wife team Jake and Cara set about nurturing their dream of a modest company that designs unique and eclectic décor objects, then builds those products as close to their home in Wichita, Kansas as possible.
In the quiet heat of a Kansas summer, Jake set about creating the initial ideas and sketches that would become the first Kooroo Animals. Working from their living room, he created the first Kooroo object, a small buffalo bank. Other animals arrived soon after and the vision of Kooroo Animals began to grow.
Jake’s mind was full of inspirations; the tricky part was figuring out how to produce the creatures he and Cara were so fond of, both in clay and paper. Luckily for everyone now enjoying the Kooroo family, Kansas offers a wealth of craftsmen and manufacturers willing to help make dreams into realities.
